Brussels:(APS)Oct 29,2015-Speakers of a seminar arranged by International Council for Human Development (ICHD) Kashmir Council EU in Brussels asked for a peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue and prevention of human rights violation in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).
The Seminar titled, ““Kashmir: A Key to Peace in South Asia” was organized at European Press Club in Brussels on the black day of 27th October. The notable seminar with a number of participants was conducted by Elizabeth Poston.
Speaking on the occasion, Member of Brussel Parliament Daniel Caron said that India and Pakistan should find a peaceful settlement of the dispute. There should be a negotiation’s process for resolution of the dispute, people of Kashmir should be given their rights and human rights violation in Kashmir should be stopped. She added, peace is necessary for whole world. It is peace which can bring prosperity in the region. Kashmir is a paradise like piece of land and only peace can maintain it beauty and development.
Another Member Brussels’ Parliament Dr Manzoor Zahoor said, New Delhi should quit Kashmir as Kashmir is not a part of India. In light of the situation exist in the region, Dr Manzoor warned that a nuclear war can be happened in the region. Giving a way for resolution of Kashmir issue, he emphasized that India should follow the UN resolutions on Kashmir problem.
Representative of Pakistan Embassy in Brussels, Mehmood Akhtar talked about legal aspects of Kashmir issue and clarified the position of Pakistan on Kashmir. He repeatedly pledged the Pakistan’s support for Kashmiris. He also presented a power point presentation about the conflict and legal aspects of the issue. Akhtar further said, India captured Kashmir after partition of the Sub-continent. “We shall continue our effort in the context of case of Kashmir,” he stressed.
On the occasion, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed Said that peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without settlement of Kashmir issue. The dispute should be resolved as per wishes of the people of Kashmir and international community should help India and Pakistan in order to resolve the problem through negotiations. About danger of a possible nuclear war in the region, Ali Raza Syed said, a nuclear war is not only destructive for South Asia but it is also dangerous for the whole world.
Giving example of effects of the war in Middle East, Chairman Kashmir Council EU said, as there are crises in Europe due to a huge number of refugees from Middle East special Syria, a possible war between India and Pakistan can create more problems for the world.
He further said, Kashmir council EU will continue its efforts to convince EU and International community to mediate between two nuclear powers for the sack of peace in the region. He said, attitude of current Indian government causes frustration among the minorities in India and even Sikhs are not safe from racism based negative behavior of the state.
A large number of the people from all walks attended the seminar and they condemned the occupation of Kashmir by Indian Authorities.
They pledged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would continue their great struggle in order achieve right self-determination and freedom from illegal Indian occupation on Kashmir.
A question-answer session was held after the speeches and a documentary about human rights violation in IHK was also shown during the seminar.
It is important to mention that people of Kashmir celebrate the day of occupation of their land by India on 27th of October 1947 as black day every year.
