Kashmir-protest

ISLAMABAD:(APS)Nov 7,2015-In occupied Kashmir, Indian police have arrested the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Geelani, along with dozens of Hurriyet leaders and activists in Srinagar.

The police took into custody Syed Ali Geelani along with other Hurriyet leaders and activists when he came out of his Hyderpora residence and tried to proceed towards the TRC ground in connection with the Million March.

Meanwhile, in a novel way of protest, the people of Srinagar released black balloons into air to show their resentment against the visit of Indian Prime Minister.

The authorities have imposed curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar and other major towns to prevent Million March in Srinagar on Saturday.

Despite restrictions, people are staging anti-India demonstrations in Baramulla, Sopore, Kupwara, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bandipore, Pampore and other areas and trying to march towards Srinagar.

Protest rally in Islamabad

Kashmiri people held a protest rally in Islamabad today against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Occupied Kashmir.

They marched to the UN office and presented a memorandum urging the world body to play its role in resolution of this longstanding dispute.

The memorandum said the Kashmiri people reject the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir state. It said the world should also take notice of the million march being organized by the Kashmiri people on the occasion of Modi’s visit to Srinagar, as well the Indian atrocities and restrictions not to allow the Kashmiris to stage the march peacefully.

They said Indian authorities have virtually converted Srinagar into a prison on the occasion of Narendra Modi’s visit.
