ISLAMABAD:(APS)October 8, 2016- Pakistan Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the squad for upcoming Test Series against West Indies in United Arab Emirates, reported APS News.
According to details, the flamboyant middle-order batsman Babar Azam and left-arm spinner Mohammd Nawaz have been included in the squad while Muhammad Hafeez, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan were ruled out of the side.
Younis khan has already been ruled out of the first test owing to his health condition as doctor advised him bed rest, however, he would be included in the second test subject to his fitness.
While responding to a question about Shahid Afridi, Inzamam-ul-Haq was of the opinion that if someone has served Pakistan for such a long time, he deserves a farewell; however, he also mentioned that his job is to select a team and not giving farewell to players.
If someone is playing first class for the last 10 years or so, evaluating his performance through his inclusion in Pakistan A team is not fair and he can come to the side based on his performance in domestic.
He stresses that the doors are open for all the players who perform.
Inzamam-ul-Haq also told that he was not satisfied with the performance of Hafeez.
The chief selector revealed that he gives importance to the suggestions of captain and also the coach.
