ISLAMABAD:(APS) October 16,2016- Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has arrested two fraudsters for preparing fake registration books of stolen vehicles and recovered four vehicles from them, police said. According to details, SP Investigation Muhammad Ilyas assigned a task to In charge ACLC SI Liaqat to trace/arrest car lifters and curb car theft incidents.. On these directions he constituted a team consisting of ASI Manzoor Elahi, ASI Waheed Ahmed and other 3 officials. After hectic and professional efforts, team traced and apprehended a gang who used to prepare fake registration books for stolen vehicles. ACLC team recovered 2 honda and 2 Toyota Passo vehicles along fake registration books and printers from the custody of arrested accused. Arrested accused identified as
1-Muhammad Arsalan alias Babar s/o Ali Asgar r/o G-7 Islamabad. 2-Asif Ali s/o Liaqat Ali r/o Pandora Rawalpindi.
During initial investigation arrested accused disclosed that they brought stolen vehicles from Sawat and after preparing fake registration books sold these to innocent Citizens on original price. Case fir 343/16 has been registered in PS sabzi mandi. Further process of investigation is underway. On said apprehension, SSP(Ops) has announced Commendation Certificates along with suitable Cash Reward for their encouragement.
