ISLAMABAD, November 14, 2015: Islamabad Police have arrested three persons involved in extortion activities and dacoity incidents, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
According to details, Tarnol police received an application from Shaukat Ali running a shop near `Chungi no.26’ for the last four years. He stated that accused Zahir and his accomplices receive extortion money from him following which FIR was registered at the police station under sections 365, 387, 506 PPC.
A police team headed by Sub-Inspector Muneer Hussain Jafferi started investigation into the matter and nabbed extortionists Zahir Khan and his father Haji Afridi. Efforts are being made to arrest their other accomplices and police team is hopeful for success.
Meanwhile, ASI Ejaz Ahmed from Bani Gala police nabbed Shehbaz Shah for his alleged involvement in snatching cash and valuables from cab drivers after hiring their cabs. Margallah police recovered a car (LEC-13) from Mureed Abbass which was found tempered having fake registration documents. It also came to know after investigation that it was stolen from area of Chenab Nagar police station in Chiniot.
Industrial area police recovered pistol from an accused Nabeel Asif. Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is also underway. While reviewing this overall performance, the SSP Islamabad Sajiid Kiani has further directed all SHOs to ensure effective policing measures in the city.
