ISLAMABAD:June 5, 2021- A two-day training programme for male and female officials of Islamabad police was held at the Police Lines Headquarters here so as to train the personnel in line with the scientific needs.
Prominent personalities from different walks of life delivered lectures on gender protection so that the personnel could perform their duty in a better way. They also shared their experiences with the personnel. The purpose of the training was to provide basic training to the personnel, especially those associated with the Gender Protection Unit and helpline-8090. Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Malika Bukhari graced the ceremony as chief guest. She congratulated Inspector General Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman for launching the Gender Protection Unit and helpline-8090 to help out women and children in distress. She termed the initiative a step in the right direction. She recognized that the Islamabad police were being reformed and steps were being taken to promote community relationships so as to resolve the problems being faced by the residents. She said that Islamabad police were emerging as a model for the provinces as well.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Qazi Jamil ur Rehman said that Islamabad police has started several programmes to facilitate the citizens and added those in the pipeline would also be completed soon. He thanked the participants, especially the experts for sharing their experiences with the personnel. He hoped that such training programmes would continue in future so as to polish the talent of the personnel. Towards the culmination of the ceremony, the IGP distributed police shields among the guests. DIG (Headquarters) Kamran Adil, DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kousar, AIG (Operations) Khurram Rasheed, ASP Amna Baig and Principal Police Training School Tahir Mahmood Khan were also present on the occasion, according to the police officials.
While the senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer had directed all zonal officers to intensify crackdown against burglars to provide relief to the masses.
The officers should ensure his presence at the crime scene to collect the evidences by using scientific methods for better investigation to trace the culprits at earliest, the SSP said in a statement.
Fowling these directions SP ( Rural-Zone) Rana Abdul Wahab constituted Special police team urnder the supervision of SDPO Koral Abid Ikram including SHO Koral Police Station Sub-Inspector Shoukat Abbasi, ASI Jaffar Ali along with other officials arrested 03 accused including a wanted member of former Jail bird Afghan National Noor Gang identified as Noor Hussan s/o Muhammad Hassan resident of Jalalabad Afghanistan, Ali Munsif s/o Muhammad Fareed resident of Manshera and Saeed Ur Rehman s/o Muhammad Idrees resident of district Mansehra and recovered stolen cash, ornaments, Camera, LEDs and weapons along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered and further investigation is underway from them.
DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kauser and SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer have appreciated this performance of koral police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for team members.
While the senior-Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer has said that Islamabad Police have arrested 87 suspects with drug peddlers, liquor seller during a grand targeted combing and search operation in Tarnol areas and shifted them to police station for further investigation.
Following orders of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, he said that an effective operation against those involved in anti-social activities, ugly business of drug smuggling and dealing.
Following his directions, the SSP (Operations) told that a grand targeted search and combing operation was conducted in the various areas of Tarnol Police Station. This operation was supervised by SP Saddar Farooq Amjad Butter including SDPO Saddar, SDPO Shalimar, Station House Officers (SHOs), officials from different police stations of Saddar Zone.
A total of 413 persons were checked during this operation while 290 houses , 65 vehicles and 15 shops were screened. A total of 87 suspects including 03 Major Narcotics Peddlers with previous criminal History, accused having illicit weapons and two Afghan national living illegally shifted to police station and case registered against drug peddlers, while 2725 grams of hashish, 40 liters alcohol and 03 illicit pistols were also recovered.
IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar have appreciated this performance.
Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Islamabad police would leave no stone unturned to root to curb the crime and the future of the young generation would be protected by curbing ugly business of drugs. He said that such operations would continue in future.
While the SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer on Saturday suspended SHO Khanna over poor performance and negligence in performing official duty.
He chaired an important meeting of the officials to review crime rate and improve security in the city, at Rescue-15 office. Additional SP Islamabad Farhat Abbas Kazmi, Zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs attended the meeting.
The SSP suspended SHO Khanna over poor performance while appreciated the performance of 6 investigation officers. They include Sub-Inspector Manzoor Ahmed, Sub-Inspector Azmat Hayat, ASI Rasheed, ASI Pervez, ASI Arif and ASI Khalid Mahmood. They were rewarded with commendation certificates and cash prizes.
The SSP directed all the concerned to improve performace as negligence in this regard would not be tolerated at any cost. He also directed the concerned officers to brief the officials on fully observing the SOPs and added all the personnel must wear bullet-proof jackets while on duty.
He warned those not observing the SOP during checking and patrolling would be punished. He directed SP (Rural), Industrial Area and Sadar Zone to accelerate search operation in the adjoining areas of Rawalpindi after holding meeting with the concerned in Rawalpindi.
He asked the officials to send applications regarding illegal occupation of land to the Anti-Land Grabbing Committee while the cases of civil nature would be sent ot conciliatory committees. The meeting also offered fateha for the police martyrs.
