Three Afghans held for involvement in dacoity incidents

ISLAMABAD:(APS) April 4, 2016- Islamabad Kohsar police station have arrested three Afghan nationals for their alleged involvement in snatching cash from those people coming out from banks or  money changers, a police spokesman said.

He said that SP (City) Rizwan Umer Gondal constituted special team including SHO Kohsar Inspector Malik Bashir Ahmed, Sub-Inspector Liaqat Ali, ASI Iftikhar Ahmed and others to ensure arrest of those involved in various dacoities in the city.

On a tip off, this team managed to stop a Corolla Car (PY-664) at F-7 Markaz and recovered weapons and ammunition from the car occupants. The nabbed persons were identified as Hashmat Ullah s/o Karim, Saif s/o Nizam Uddin and Nur alias Yaseen s/o Yusuf residents of Afghanistan.

During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to snatch cash after observing those people who came out from banks and money changers after getting cash from there. They revealed to strike at Blue area, Jinnah Super and other areas adjacent to it. They snatched to snatch prize bonds of Rs. 3,90,000 from a citizen Maroof at Blue Area when he was on his way to home after State Bank.

Further investigation is underway from them and police hope for more recovery from them. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this performance of Kohsar police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for police team. He further directed all police officials to ensure strict vigilance and patrolling in their respective areas.
