ISLAMABAD:(APS) September 9, 2015: Like their compatriots elsewhere in the country, the police in the national capital have added a golden chapter in their history, written with blood of their martyrs.
The courageous role played by the police in the capital has won hearts of people as the brave custodians of law and order prevented many disasters by timely nabbing terrorist elements. These brave policemen,no doubt, had left the scene after performing their specific roles but the perennial mark they left upon the face of society would continue to mould spirits of their successors to follow their path with a renewed commitment and fervor.
It was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed while addressing a ceremony arranged by FM Radio 92.4 of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) here at National Council of Arts. IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed, SP Khalid Rasheed, Program Manager Ayesha Jameel and other police officials were also present on the occasion.
Minister for Information said that ITP FM Radio 92.4 is playing a vital role in educating the citizens about traffic rules and providing necessary information to road users of Islamabad.
He said that ITP personnel are following the policy of merit and nov discrimination is made by them with road users in case of any violation. He said that traffic cops are ensuring safe road environment and their efforts protect us from road mishaps. He paid tributes to all those police officials who are performing their duties with commitment despite several odds including tough weather conditions and others.
IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan thanked the Minister for Information for attendingthe sixth anniversary of ITP FM Radio 92.4 and said that ITP has contributed a lot towards maintaining traffic discipline in the
city. He said that a comparison of road accidents during the last few years also reveals reduction in such mishaps and appreciated the force for their devotion towards duties. Tahir Alam Khan said that ITP FM
Radio 92.4 is the popular radio in Islamabad which is promoting the indigenous culture besides road safety tips to road users.
He said that ITP’s radio has started the internship program for the youth and 300 students have so far got training.
He said that cops of ITP performed duties very well during construction of metro bus track and sit-in period. “ I feel proud of the force which is very much vibrant,” the IGP said and lauded the efforts of SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed, SP (Traffic) Khalid Rasheed, Station Director Ayesha Jameel and whole team towards success story of ITP.
SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob said that whole team of ITP’s FM Radio 92.4 and its Station Director Ms. Ayesha is working well. He said that ITP will further assert itself as model police through effective
policing, adding that FM Radio project was need of the hour and it has raised awareness among citizens about traffic rules.
ITP’s radio channel has obtained popularity among the people due to its quality program, the SSP (Traffic) said adding that it would further help control road accidents and promote the concept of safe
driving among the people.
SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob hoped that ITP as well as its radio would further make progress through guidance and cooperation of the citizens. The transmission of FM Radio 92.4 will be made more attractive for audience in future, he maintained.
