ISLAMABAD:(APS) December 31,2016-On the directives of Prime Minster of Pakistan, Minster of State for CADD orders suspension of four officers of Capital Development Authority. The suspended officials include Member Engineering, Shahid Sohail, Director General Engineering and Maintenance, Sohail Anjum, Director Engineering and Maintenance, Asif Jah and Deputy Director Irfan Khokhar.
Earlier the Prime Minister had tasked these officials to ensure provision of adequate street lights all across the city, particularly along smaller roads within the residential sector and streets. The failure of CDA to implement PM’s directives within the stipulated timeframe invited displeasure and concern of the Prime Minister who directed Minister of State for CADD, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to hold inquiry against the culprits. Dr. Tariq directed Secretary CADD to suspend the officials and hold departmental inquiry against them. Suspension orders of the four officers were issued by CADD.
Providing futher elaborate directions, the PM also directed CDA to ensure better sanitation facilities including better garbage collection and disposal system , improve cleanliness along the streams flowing through the city, supervise efficiently, broken and worn down state of public parks particularly in the outer sectors and suburbs of the city, take action against encroachments in markets and along roads to improve vehicular and pedestrian traffic and improve horticultural activity in the city and erect visible signage system in the city.
The PM also directed the civic agency to take immediate measures to bring about improvement in all facets of its working and service delivery, with particular emphasis on above mentioned areas.
