ISLAMABAD:(APS) December 23, 2014: Islamabad police have devised a strategy to improve the security of the schools through the cooperation of their respective administrations and special briefing to the students.
It was state by Inspector General of Police Tahir Alam Khan while talking to media at the inaugural ceremony of Reporting Room at Secretariat police station. SP (City) Rizwan Gondal, DSP Secretariat Bashir Ahmed Noon, DSP (City) Muhammad Ashraf Shah, SHO Secretariat police station Nawaz Bhatti, SHO Aabpara police station Khalid Mehmud Awan and other police officials were also present o the occasion.
The IGP said special attention is being paid to improve the security of the schools. He said that school administrations have been conveyed to appoint a security officer in their respective schools and also supporting staff like security guards and watchman. He said that Islamabad police will also impart special training to them.
The IGP said that 20 officers of Inspector rank have been assigned duties to brief the students in schools during their assembly congregations as how to deal with emergency and ensure own safety.
He said that special lectures will be delivered to boost the moral and courage of the students with focus as how to observe and handle critical situations.
Tahir Alam Khan said that security of Islamabad has been enhanced and search operations are being conducted to ensure arrests of suspects. He said that purpose of establishing model reporting rooms is to enhance liaison with public by resolving their problems on immediate basis and win their confidence on police department.
The IGP said that special rooms have been established for meetings of complainants with police officials to discuss their problems and eligible police officers will be deputed to serve the public.
