ISLAMABAD:(APS) June 12, 2015: The newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sajid Kiani has said that corruption, violation of merit and inefficiency would not be tolerated and those involved in such practices would be ousted from the force.
In his maiden interaction with police officials here at Rescue 15 after assuming the charge of SSP, he said that that inefficient SHOs or Inspectors at police stations would be removed and sub-inspectors may be given opportunity to deliver there.
SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas, SP (City) Ahmed Iqbal, SP (Rural) Yasir Afridi, SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hyat Naizi, SP (Saddar) Habib Ullah Niazi, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers, DSPs Security, Rescue 15 and CIA as well as Station House Officers (SHOs) of police stations were present on the occasion.
The SSP (Operations) said those involved in illegal activities would be shown door and black sheep would not be spared in the force. He said Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) of police official will reflect their actual performance and all postings would be made purely on merit.
He also directed to make patrolling resulted oriented rather than wasting time and resources on it. He also asked police officials to do justice with their jobs and accomplish their responsibilities in a befitted manner.
The SSP (Operations) said that accountability process would be started in the force and those showing good performance would be awarded. He stressed for decent attitude of policemen with public especially with complainants for success in policing affairs and said people should be behaved in polite manner because this gesture can win their hearts.
He also asked them to share their numbers with complainants in order to update them about the development of their cases and directed to forward applications of civil nature to conciliatory committees.
He stressed for speedy disposal of cases and their investigation purely on merit. He directed all SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to check the files of various cases, insert their remarks in them with clear directions to settle cases at earliest and on merit. “This exercise should be completed within next five days,” he added.
The SSP asked to launch crackdown against drug pushers and wine sellers. He directed for effective measures to curb incidents of car and bike thefts besides enhancing coordination within the force so that a nabbed thief can be interrogated by any police official about crime in his respective area.
Policing is a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion, the SSP maintained. In connection with security during Ramadan ul Mubarak, he also directed all police officials to review arrangements of worship and important places in their respective jurisdictions.
He ordered to devise schedule about security duties in Ramadan- ul- Mubarak and ensure elaborate security measures in the whole city.
