Cache of narcotics recovered during grand operation in Dore Village: Says SSP

ISLAMABAD; April 25, 2021- Inspector-General Islamabad police Qazi JAmil-ur-Rehman has asked the officials to adopt a public-friendly attitude at the police stations so as to resolve the public issues in an amicable manner and at the earliest.
He gave a surprise visit to Noon police station falling in the Industrial-Area zone on Sunday where SSP (Operations) briefed him about the functioning of the station. The IGP inspected the building, record, and barracks of the police station. He also interacted with the officials at the front-desk and inquired about complaint registration process and follow-up procedure. He also met with the investigation officers and asked about progress in the investigation of the cases.
Speaking on the occasion, Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman directed the staff to promote a public-friendly attitude when it comes to redressal of public complaints. He said social interaction was vital to combat the menace of drugs and crime as he urged for activating the conciliatory committees. The IGP said that security of life and property of the residents and redressal of their issues should be taken as the top priority by the police. He also directed the officials to ensure security of the mosques and imambargahs in the holy month and also asked them to adopt precautionary measures in view of the increasing Covid-19 threats.
The IGP asked the officials to complete investigation of the under-trial cases at the earliest. SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, SP (Industrial-Area) zone and other police officials were also present on the occasion. The IGP had already undertaken visits to different city police stations including Sihala, Khanna, Koral, Nilore, I-9 and Sabzi Mandi so as to supervise the police functioning.
While the Senior-Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has said that Islamabad Police have recovered cache of narcotics during a grand targeted search and combing operation in conducted in Dore Village, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman has directed to launch an effective operation against those involved in ugly business of drug smuggling and dealing.
Following his directions, the SSP (Operations) told that a grand targeted search and combing operation was launched in Dore village area of Tarnol Police Station. This operation was participated by SP Saddar Hamza Hamyoun, SDPO Saddar Sajjad Hussain Bukhari, Station House Officers (SHOs), officials from different police stations of Saddar Zone.
A total of 100 persons were checked during this operation while 30 houses and five shops were screened. A total of 06 Major Narcotics Peddlers with previous criminal History arrested while 3730 grams Heroine and 1110 grams Hashish was recovered.
IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar have appreciated this performance.
Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Islamabad police would leave no stone unturned to root out this menace and future of young generation would be protected by curbing it. He said that such operations would continue in future and those networks dealing in such ugly business would have to face action as per law.
Senior Superintendent of police (Operations) Islamabad Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Islamabad police had accelerated it’s efforts against criminals and arrested 230 outlaws during the last week besides recovery of huge recovery of looted items worth Rs 70,41,600 from them, a police spokesman said.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, he said renewed efforts were made and police achieved remarkable success.
SSP (Operations) told that 32 culprits were arrested for being involved in dacoity, robbery, car/motorcycle theft with recovery worth RS. 65,01000
while 17 absconders were held during the same period. Complete challans of 134 cases were sent to concerned courts, he added.
Syed Mustafa Tanveer further said that ICT Police had launched a special campaign against drug sellers/bootleggers for elimination of drug menace from Capital. During this campaign Islamabad Police have nabbed eight accused and recovered 2.666 kilogram hashish from them while 10 accused were also held for having nine pistols and as many daggers and 40 rounds from them, the SSP maintained.
The SSP emphasized that, besides the law and order situation in the Capital, police accelerated their efforts against criminals and 162 accused involved in crimes of different nature were also arrested.
Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer reiterated that criminal elements would not be spared and those involved in such acts would have to face action as per law. He has also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with Islamabad in curbing activities of such elements.
