ISLAMABAD:(APS) November 12, 2015: Inspector General of Police Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed all police officials to ensure special security arrangements in Capital on the eve of various political gatherings, public meetings in perspective of election campaign and also on the day of polling when people will cast their vote at various polling stations.
He made these directions to them here at meeting on Thursday which was attended among others by AIG Establishment Muhammad Sulman, SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani, SSP (Security) Mir Vais Niaz, SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed, all SPs, DSPOs, SHOs and other police officials. The IGP reviewed the law and order situation and meeting devised effective strategy regarding security for upcoming local bodies elections in Islamabad.
Islamabad police chief directed all police officials for fool proof security arrangements during political gatherings or meetings in their respective areas and take measures to ensure effective policing. The professional as well as responsible attitude in this regard is compulsory to get success, the IGP maintained.
He said that implementation on code of conduct issued by Election Commission would be ensured and display of weapons, aerial firing and use of loudspeakers would be completely banned.
He said those violating code of conduct during canvassing will be dealt strictly and peace and tranquility in the city to be ensured at every cost
The IGP said that every police official would have to remain impartial and every effort to be ensured for fairness and transparency. He asked all police officials to conduct survey regarding sensitive polling stations so that extra efforts should be ensure there for calm voting process on Election Day.
He said that peaceful conduct of election would help in promoting the peaceful image of the country which believes in democratic process in true letter and spirit.
Tahir Alam Khan also directed to enhance patrolling measures on this occasion so that any untoward incident could be avoided. He said that police from other districts would be called for purpose of effective security measures during elections. He appointed DSP (Security) Altaf Aziz Khatak as focal persons in this regard.
