ISLAMABAD:(APS) July 11, 2016- Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has arrested four outlaws involved in pick-pocketing and recovered cash and a car from them, a police spokesman said.
He said that a team of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was constituted by SP Investigation, Islamabad Muhammad Ilya under the supervision of DSP CIA Bashir Noon. This team including Sub-Inspector Azam, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Suleman Shah, Azhar Hussain and six others. After hectic and day and night professional efforts, team succeeded to apprehend a gang of four pick pockets and recovered stolen mobiles and cash worth Rs. 31000, different CNICs and Mehran car. The nabbed pickpockets have been identified as Zahid Iqbal, Zahid Mehmood alias Zidi, Ramzan and Babar.
During preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in multiple cases of pocket picking at Faisal Masjid, Faizabad bus stand and other areas. They used Mehran car for their transportation and used to escaped on it after committing crime of pick-pocketing. They also revealed to commit such incidents in Lahore, Okara and Rawalpindi.
SSP Islamabad Sajjad Kaini has appreciated the performance of SIU team and announced cash prized and certificates for team members. He said that SIU has won great achievements in short time since its inception and said that names of good performers would be forwarded to IGP for special prizes.
