ISLAMABAD:(APS) May 30, 2016- Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police has busted an inter-provincial gang of dacoits and nabbed its five gangsters involved in dacoity incidents in various cities, a police spokesman said.
He said that senior police officials of Islamabad Police assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to ensure arrest of those involved in various dacoities as well as cash snatching incidents outside banks. He constituted special team under supervision of DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon which also included Inspector Muhammad Aslam, ASI Tanseem Ahmed and others.
This team started investigation into various cases and succeeded to arrest five dacoits involved in dacoities at Colonel Aman Ullah Raod, Bhara Kahu Islamabad and various areas of twin cities. The nabbed persons have been identified as Ashfaq alias Shaka, Shehzad Chaudhry, Sajjad, Rizwan Sajid and Arshad while police also recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to injure two brothers Ali Raza and Kaleem through firing on April 23, 2016 when they were going for payment of Rs. 2.6 million to their client after withdrawing this cash from UBL, Bank Aabpara. Muhammad Kaleem succumbed to his injuries in hospital and case was registered at Bhara Kau police station.
They also admitted to commit other dacoities in Karachi and Rawalpindi as six cases have been found registered against them at Naseerabad police station Rawalpindi. These persons have already remained jail birds and used to snatch cash from people coming out from the banks in various areas. Further investigation is underway from them.
IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin and SSP Sajid Kiani have appreciated this overall performance of SIU police team and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for them. SSP Islamabad said that SIU of Islamabad police is actively engaged against criminal elements and it has also got remarkable success against criminals as well as dacoits through pursuing the cases with hard work.
