Delay in registration of FIRs not to be tolerated: IGP


ISLAMABAD:(APS)April ,2016- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tariq Masood Yasin had directed all police officers to ensure registration of all Pending cases as soon as possible which has been started, a police spokesman said on Friday.

 The sudden rise in the number of FIRs registered at different police station s of capital during the last two weeks is because of the IGPs directions to the police stations heads for registering of the cases on pending applications without any delay. So many applications were pending with police stations when the new IGP took over charge. The news IGP had given directions to all the SHOs to take action on the complaints without any delay which swelled the number of FIRs in the last two weeks.

 Tariq Masood Yasin further stated that all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens and no laxity in this regard would be tolerated. He also directed that delay in registration of FIRs caused by any police officer will not be tolerated and the concerned police officials will face departmental action in this regard.

 The IGP said that Rescue-15 and Islamabad Traffic Police help line 1915 are being merged to improve the quality of police service. He added that policing in Islamabad will be IT based in near future.
