ISLAMABAD: June 3, 2021-Inspector-General Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has said that the accountability process would continue in the force so as to improve its performance.
He was addressing a ceremony held here at the Central Police office in connection with awarding the commendation certificates among the best performers of the department. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that continuity of the accountability process would encourage the policemen serving well. DIG (HQ) Kamran Adil and other officers were also present in the ceremony.
The officials which were rewarded included SHO Sihala Inspector Muhammad Gulfraz, SHO Noon Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq Hussain, SHO Ramana Sub-Inspector Akhtar Zaman, SHO Koral Sub-Inspector Shaukat Mahmood Abbasi, SHO Shams Colony Sub-Inspector Amir Abbas, Sub-Inspector Zahid Hussain Shah, Head Constable Ashfaq Hussain, Head Constable Muhammad Idrees, Head Constable Mehrooz Shah, Head Constable Rehmat Ali, Constable Muhammad Zahoor, Constable Noor Muhammad, Constable Ali Asghar and Constable Asghar Ali.
The IGP said that an accountability process has been adopted in the department to help improve the performance of police officials. He said that provision of facilities to the citizens is the top priority of the police and added that the police can earn a better image through decent and friendly steps. He said that policemen showing good performance would be encouraged so that they can perform better in future as well and contribute towards effective policing. He urged all the police officials to perform with best of their capabilities, as their performance would be reviewed on a continuous basis. He said that those performing well would be encouraged and poor performers would have to face disciplinary action. He said that it is the prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and added that utmost efforts should be made to improve the police image through service-oriented measures.
