QUETTA: (APS)The Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said that only a secure Pakistan can be a prosperous Pakistan and our fight against terrorism and extremism is not for today but for our future generations.
While addressing the audiences at Command and Staff College in Quetta on Thursday, the army chief emphasised on the complex and ever-changing nature of threats to the national security.
COAS told his audience that security threats are complex, multidimensional and hybrid in character, rendering traditional response mechanisms irrelevant.
Wars are not fought by the army alone, he said, adding that the whole nation’s efforts are necessary in order to be successful.
Gen Raheel said that only a secure Pakistan can be a prosperous Pakistan, and that the country’s efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism will impact future generations.
The COAS said Operation Zarb-i-Azb is a strike against terrorism in urban centres.
