ISLAMABAD:(APS)August 18, 2016-The implementation of the NAP requires parliamentary oversight. In the recent past the federal government has indicated these issues related to the province in the NAP have not been fully implemented similar complaints have been made about the federal ministries. . Parliament is a forum where all stakeholders can be held accountable. This has been done in the past under the parliamentary committee on National Security and that was a very a successful experience. This will also give political and all party ownership. Mian Raza Rabbani in his address said this at the ‘inaugural ceremony of Second Internship batch of Senate Internship program at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Studies (PIPS) today. Chairman Senate said that, unfortunately in Pakistan parliament was never allowed to grow and democracy was never allowed to take roots. The institution of parliament, he said, was treated as the secondary element in the affairs of the state. He urged the young interns to have a look at the true picture of its history and understand the real spirit and true perspective of historical constitutional developments.
