The ‘forced’ retirement of bureaucrats is likely to be delayed

Associated Press Service

ISLAMABAD:July 3, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The ‘forced’ retirement of dozens of senior bureaucrats is likely to be stopped for the time being as the Establishment Division has agreed to review the cases proposed for ‘forced retirement’ as per the orders of the high courts.

The committee headed by Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed reviewed the recent security of senior bureaucrats under the Civil Servants Directory Retirement Rules 2020.

The government has set up a Board of Directors of Retirement (DRB) to review cases of government employees in grades 20 and above under these principles.

The DRB reviewed the cases of 1,383 government employees in grades 20 and above at its meetings on April 19, 21 and 22.

However, according to Establishment Division documents, “the DRB’s recommendations have not yet been finalized.”
