ISLAMABAD: (APS) May 13, 2017- Afzal Butt President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists has said that struggle will continue to the development and stability of democracy including freedom of the press.
He added that services of senior Journalists of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists is admirable for restore of democracy and press freedom during the Ziaul Haq’s military dictatorship.
He expressed these views during a seminar on Youm-e- Azam in honour of Iqbal Jaffri,Nasir Zaidi,Khawar Naeem Hashmi were flogged for protesting for the freedom of the press and against Ziaul Haq’s military dictatorship at National Press Club Islamabad organized by RIUJ and NPC.
On this occasion, Senior journalist Nasir Malik has said that our commitment was not only freedom of the press but also the restoration of democracy.
On that occasion, Iqbal Jaffery said that struggle of journalists proved to be the last nail in Zia dictator’s coffin.
Senator Sardar Salim said that who were ignored speaking out against the dictatorship. He said that Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists raised voice to the restoration of democracy in all periods of dictatorship.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Ali Ahmed Khan has said that authoritarian behavior is condemned able.
He said that Journalists sacrifices will not go waste.
Shakeel Anjum President National Press Club has said that will continue to stand and fighting to freedom of the press.
