ISLAMABAD:(APS)July 26, 2016-Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani has urged the Asian countries to settle their differences and disputes for peace and stability in the continent.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development, which began in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Chairman pointed out that Asia is faced with multiple challenges and it is time that all countries of the continent forge unity and come together to steer their peoples out of poverty and backwardness.
He said efforts should be geared up to achieve the greater goal of rising Asia.
Raza Rabbani said the lingering disputes of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine needs to be resolved.
Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in his speech emphasized the need for greater cooperation amongst the Asian countries to meet the multifaceted challenges including terrorism and security.
He called upon the Asian countries to remove investment and trade barriers for an equitable economic order in the continent.
The speaker said there is need to encourage regional integration and connectivity to achieve the objectives of shared prosperity.
