Muzaffarabad: July 21, 2016-Counting is underway for the 10th general elections on 41 seats of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
PML-N is leading in AJK elections held today.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results received so far, PML-N is taking lead, while PTI, PPP, and Muslim Conference appeared far behind.
AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal announced the result of LA-39 Kashmir Valley IV. Asad Aleem Shah of PML- N secured 1026 votes and declared successful.Azhar Gillani of PPP secured 893 votes.
In Mirpur Division, Sardar Farooq Sikanadr of PML-N succeeded from LA-9 Kotli-2 with over 28 thousand votes. Javed Iqbal of PPP stood second with over 24 thousand votes.
Raja Nisar Ahmad of PML-N succeeded from LA-12 Kotli-5 with over 16 thousand votes against Muhammad Matloob Inqilabi of PPP with over 11 thousand votes
Sardar Ateeq of Muslim Conference is also leading.
AJK Election Commission had made all necessary arrangements to conduct the elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.
The AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal visited various polling stations in Muzaffarabad city.
Talking to media on the occasion, he said no complaint of any mishap or violence has been received from any constituency.
He thanked the federal government, Pak Army and the state administration for extending full support and cooperation for smooth conduct of the election process.
The Chief Election Commissioner also visited polling stations in Rawalakot and Mirpur districts.
