ISLAMABAD:APS) August 2, 2016-A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad reviewed progress on the ongoing and future energy projects in terms of the benchmarks.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that utmost transparency must be ensured in the execution of energy projects.
He said the government is committed to end load-shedding from the country by the end of our tenure.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on the energy projects and said that the present government is effectively diversifying the energy mix of the country to overcome the energy shortfall.
He said that it is encouraging that all the ongoing energy projects are being executed cost-effectively. He laid special emphasis on the progress of energy projects under the CPEC and directed for reviewing the pace of work on these projects on regular basis.
Nawaz Sharif said we are committed to provide not only sufficient electricity but also affordable electricity to the consumers enabling them to contribute in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
The Meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary Water and Power and other senior officials.
