ISLAMABAD:(APS)Jan 30,2016-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged Saudi Arabia and Iran to mutually remove their reservations.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, he said it was Pakistan’s own initiative to defuse tension between Iran and Saudi.
To a question, the prime minister said matters between Pakistan and India were moving in the right direction. He regretted the Pathankot incident disturbed the negotiation process.
To another question, the Prime Minister said the terrorists are now carrying out isolated acts to make their presence felt. However, these will also be eliminated under an effective strategy.
He stressed the need for accelerating implementation of some clauses of National Action Plan.
About the Karachi operation, the Prime Minister said the city was witnessed marked improvement in law and order situation.
Nawaz Sharif made it clear that rangers will remain in Karachi as long as complete peace is not restored there.
To a question, the Prime Minister said the country has been put on the path of economic self-reliance.
He said foreign reserves stand at over 21 billion dollars. Inflation rate is downing by two percent and all economic indicators show positive results.
He said Pakistan’s economic performance has also been acknowledged by the world institutions and power outages have been reduced significantly.
He said the benefits of economic policies have started reaching the people and the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene oil have been cut five rupees per liter for the next month.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the residence of former District Nazim Lahore Mian Amir Mehmood to condole the death of his father Mian Zahoor Ul Haq.
The Prime Minister offered Fateha for the departed soul and expressed sympathies with Mian Amir Mehmood.
