PM APPROVES REVISED ASSISTANCE PACKAGE FOR FAMILIES OF DECEASED EMPLOYEES

ISLAMABAD:(APS)Dec 3,2015-The package include several benefits for the heirs of deceased employees and for those officers and officials incapacitated or as a result of injury in encounters, bomb blasts, riots, watch and ward duty or terrorist activity.

The package has three hundred percent increase over the package of 2006.

According to details, in case of death of employee during service, a lump sum grant of six hundred thousand rupees will be given from scale number one to four, nine hundred thousand from scale 5 to 10, twelve hundred thousand rupees from scale 11 to 15, fifteen hundred thousand rupees from scale 16 to 17, twenty-four hundred thousand from scale 18 to 19 and thirty hundred thousand rupees from scale 20 and above.

The package include other benefits including hundred percent pension to the families of  deceased Government servants as per their length of service and last pay drawn, retention of Government House of or payment of rent of hired house till the age of superannuation, free education to all the children up to to graduation in any public educational institution and discontinuation of the entitlement of two percent quota for allotment of plot.  Payment of lump sum grants in lieu of plot subject to the condition that no plot had been allotted in the past.

It also include employment for posts in scale one to 15 on two years contract without advertisement, marriage grant amounting to eight hundred thousand rupees on wedding of one daughter, may be granted to family of deceased Government employees and monthly benevolent grant.  In case of advance against salaries sanction by the AGPR or the provincial AG Office, the unpaid balance to be waived.

Upto ten million rupees will be given in case of security related deaths according to scales.

b.  Rs. 700,000/-to the officers/officials incapacitated and released from service for having become invalid as a result of injury in encounters /bomb blasts, riots/ watch and ward duty or terrorist activity.

c.   Rs. 500,000/- to the officers / officials incapacitated as a result of the injury in accidents as stated in para “b” above but who are still serving in the department.

Pension 

 

100% pension to the families of a deceased Government servants as per their length of service and last pay drawn. Advance

Nomination of an officer as council An officer of BS-17 or BS-18 may be nominated by each Ministry/Division/Department as council who will be responsible for finalization/provision of all the facilities under the package, to the families of Govt. employees who die in service with in one month of the incident.
