Murree: Piyaas International , a leading international organization working for environmental protection, has demanded from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Minister Punjab and relevant ministries and government agencies that locals, along with corrupt Forest Department staff, are damaging trees and selling them to the timber mafia.
According to a press release issued by the headquarters of Piyaas International Human Rights said that strict action should be taken against those who sell trees mafia and forest department employees.
That a certain mafia is causing damage by spraying liquid chemicals on the trees and selling them to the timber mafia with the connivance of the forest department staff, which is deforesting rapidly and posing a serious threat to the environment, the chairman said.
Piyaas International Human Rights has demanded from the concerned authorities to take strict legal action against those involved in anti-environmental activities and bring those involved to justice.
