Pakistan army will defend the homeland:Corps commanders

RAWALPINDI:(APS)March 9,2017-The corps commander at its meeting in Rawalpindi on Thursday reaffirmed the resolve to thwart the sordid designs of the hostile agencies against the security and development of the country with the support of the nation.

Its meeting was held with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair.

The meeting said Pakistan Army will play its due role towards defense and security of the motherland.

It said that sacrifices made by the resilient people of Pakistan and its brave soldiers will not go waste.

The Corps commander conference reviewed geo-strategic and security environment with special focus on internal security.

Pak-Afghan border situation and Indian cease fire violations along LoC was also reviewed in the meeting.

The forum hailed performance of security forces including police intelligence and o Law enforcement agencies for effective response to recent terrorist incidents and security arrangements of PSL final at Lahore.

The participants of the form discussed operation Radd ul Fasaad in detail.

On the occasion, The Army Chief said Radd ul Fassad is a comprehensive operation against terrorism .  He said the operation  is not against any particular race, sect or group.

The forum also acknowledged participation and support by Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy in the on ongoing operation.

The meeting discussed implementation of National Action Plan. It said that implementation of the NAP needs to be expedited jointly by relevant stakeholders for lasting peace and stability in the country.

The army chief also informed the participants about discussion during last security conference with government authorities which included phased fencing of Pak-Afghan border, repatriation of Afghan refugees, judicial, police and madrassa reforms and restarting execution of death sentences to terrorists awarded by the military courts.

The forum expressed its confidence on performance of military courts. However, decision for reinstatement of military courts rests with the government. Dawn leaks issue was also discussed.

The forum also reviewed Pakistan Army’s support in conducting 6th housing and population census. The Army Chief said that Army shall undertake this task as a national service. • Free Website Templates - Downlaod Full Themes
