PESHAWAR (APS) – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Tuesday has said that it is a ‘black day’ in the history of Pakistan and that clearance operation against terrorists involved in the attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar has completed.
He broke the news at a press conference in Peshawar.
He said that Peshawar attackers are enemies of the humanity.
The DG said that it is the ‘black day’ in the history of Pakistan and as many as 132 students and at least 9 staff members of the school have been killed in the attack.
He said that the total number of students registered at the school is around 1,099 whereas the Pakistan Army rescued a total of at least 960 after the operation against terrorists.
As many as 121 students including 3 staffers are injured and admitted in hospitals including, Lady Reading Hospital, the DG added.
Terrorists enetered the school using a ladder, according to the ISPR DG.
DG Bajwa said that let alone being muslims, terrorists are not even humans.
According to the ISPR DG, there are as many as four blocks in the school and that the Special Service Group (SSG) targeted at least three terrorists in the administrative block.
Moreover, a large amount of explosive material has been seized, DG Asim Bajwa added.
Furthermore, the DG expressed solidarity with the bereaved families who have lost their children in the sad incident.
Identities of terrorists are yet to be found out, however it is being told that they were speaking Arabic. DG Bajwa also said that there is a generalised threat to the country since the start of Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
While answering a question at the press conference, he said that the process of identification of terrorists is underway.
The Quick Response Force reached the spot within 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
He also said that the operation against terrorists would continue in the country until every single one of them including their accomplices are either arrested or killed.
He further told that the SSG rescued as many as 23 children at the end of the operation.
He expressed a resolve that Operation Zarb-e-Azb is the final operation against terrorists and it would put an end to terrorism in the country.
DG Bajwa said that at least 3000 terrorists have been captured from different areas of the country until today.
Terrorists blew up their vehicle with an explosive material, probably a time bomb, ISPR DG added.
