US President says his country has very strong relations with Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD:(APS) 22,Oct 2015- U.S. President Barack Obama says he wants to deepen ties with Pakistan during a meeting Thursday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the White House.
“Obviously the United States and Pakistan have a long standing relationship, work and cooperate on a whole host of issues,” said Obama. “We are looking forward to using this meeting as an opportunity to further deepen the relationship between the United States and Pakistan.”
Sharif noted the depth of bilateral ties, saying, “the Pakistan-America relations stand over 70 years, and it is my endeavor to further strengthen and solidify this relationship.”
A meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and US President Barack Obama is underway in Washington.
US President welcomed Nawaz Sharif at the White House. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister thanked President Barack Obama for his hospitality and inviting him to visit the United States.
He said Pak-US relations have 70-year long relationship. US President said Pakistani community is playing an important role in development and progress of the United States. He said his country has very strong relations with Pakistan.
He said the United States wants to enhance its cooperation with Pakistan in science and technology.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan wants cooperation with the United States in all sectors. He stressed the need for further expansion of relationship between the two countries.
US President Barack Obama said the visit will further strengthen relationship between Pakistan and the United States.
