LAHORE: (APS) Dec 3,2015– Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (TPI) Chairman Imran Khan has on Thursday said that Pakistan needs leadership, not secret meetings. Criticizing Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, Imran Khan said that leaders do not meet secretively. He said that Pakistan and Indian leaders didn’t display leadership qualities, reported APS News.
Addressing a seminar at a local hotel in Lahore, Imran Khan said that Pakistan needs leadership but is facing dearth of the same. He said that a leader’s real abilities come to the fore in the hour of crisis. “A leader is supposed to follow an ideology and lead the nation with a vision. He is not afraid of anyone”, he said.
PTI Chairman said that he is a fan of Nelson Mandela, South African leader, who saved his nation with his leadership.
Criticizing the secret meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Modi in Khatmandu that has recently come to light through Indian journalist Barkha Dutt’s yet-to-be-launched book, Imran Khan said that Pakistan needs leadership today, not secret meetings. He said that the meeting was held in Nepal and Nawaz Sharif was afraid of the establishment during the meeting. He said that leaders are not supposed to meet in hiding, they must have some credibility. “Unfortunately, India and Pakistan leaders didn’t display leadership qualities”, he said.
Imran Khan said that poverty is Pakistan’s biggest issue and therefore, peace should be our top priority for fighting the poverty. He quoted from China’s example, saying that China first fought the poverty within their country and the decline of poverty in their country automatically raised their growth rate.
