ISLAMABAD:(APS)June 9, 2016-Taking part in the budget debate, Syed Naveed Qamar said the government violated Debt Limitation Act by borrowing more than 60 percent to GDP during the last three years.
He criticized pathetic performance of Government in agriculture sector which impacted negatively on GDP growth.
He said there is no mechanism given to implement the relief package announced for the agriculture sector.
Mir Zafarullah Jamali said declining exports, decreasing remittances rate and low investment are obstacles in improvement of economy.
Jehangir Khan Tareen was of the view that there is no vision or plan for development of the country in the budget. He said independent economists are challenging the figures mentioned in the budget.
Speaking on a point of order, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif tendered unconditional apology from the House for his remarks against woman member in his speech on budget on Wednesday.
On a point of order, Dr. Shireen Mazari said Khawaja Asif used un-parliamentary language against her and decency demands that he should apologized from her.
The opposition staged a walk out saying that they are not satisfied with the apology of the Minister.
Mian Abdul Mannan said the Government has focused on development of agriculture sector particularly textile in the budget. He said as a result of measures taken by the Government tax collection has increased.
He said credit rating agencies have put the economy of the country from negative to stable. He regretted that some elements are creating hurdles in its way.
He criticized PTI for creating obstacles in country’s development process by its negative politics.
