Leading journalist Nawaz Raza’s book “Roodad e Siyasat” launched

ISLAMABAD: October 27, 2021-Political and religious leaders have said that only politicians are held accountable by all but rather everyone should be held accountable and no one should be exempted from it. The key speakers acknowledged that Muhammad Nawaz Raza has never violated the sanctity of the pen, while adressing the launching ceremony of Nawaz Raza’s debut book Roodad e Siyasat.

The book is a collection of his columns which provides a deep understanding of Pakistani politics and guides readers throughout the book about major historical and political events. Muhammad Nawaz Raza has never sold a pen, said speakers. He has acquired a vast recognition, popularity, reputation and admiration in all walks of society because of his journalistic principles, they said.

The event was attended by country’s notable political figures including PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Bukhari, Jamaat-e-Islami’s leader Farid Ahmed Paracha, JUI leader Senator Talha Mahmood. Former National Assembly member Malik Abrar Ahmed, Rawalpindi’s mayor Sardar Naseem, former PIO Ashfaq Gondal, Dr. Jamal Nasir and other personalities from different walks of life also addressed the gathering.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that anyone who participates in the affairs of the country must be held accountable. Accountability should be for all instead of for chosen ones and no one should be above the law, He continued. People of Pakistan should at least know the facts, those who make and run NAB rules are not subject to the NAB, how many of those have been punished by the NAB? He asked.

The tax law should be made effective. If the income is accounted for, then everything will come to light and if the system of the country is to be corrected, then the tax system has to be improved, he added. The book of Nawaz Raza encompasses Pakistan’s political history and it is a must read for everyone. He said.

In his book Nawaz Raza has depicted the true state of affairs in Pakistan in a very creative way, he said. Journalists make and break politicians through the pen, so the pen is a great power and Nawaz Raza has always used this power correctly in every era, so that is why he is respected in all fields. He said. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also said that Nawaz Raza speaks openly and criticizes with unbiased approach.

Former Chairman Senate PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said that it is important to avoid character assassination of politicians. Journalism and Politics is inseparable. He said that there should be a forum for action against those who have tarnished the image of politicians. Who will take accountability of those who once had just bicycle but now is billionaire, He added.

Journalist are like a mirror so we should improve ourselves rather than breaking the mirror, said Fareed Ahmad Paracha. There should be respect for vote and public mandate but there should be respect for voters as well. He continued.
