Islamabad administration failed to control the cost of fruit and vegetables

ISLAMABAD:(APS) June 9, 2016-– Profiteers in Islamabad have surpassed limits in selling fruits on the prices set by themselves.

With the arrival of Ramazan, vendors have increased the prices in contrast to those set by the district government.

The price of bananas per dozen set by the government is Rs87/dozen whereas in the market they are being sold at Rs120/dozen.

Apple price has been set Rs165/kg whereas in market the sale price is Rs250/kg.

Likewise, price of mangoes set in the list is Rs77/kg whereas in the market they are being sold at Rs120/kg.

In the government list, watermelons have a price of Rs33/kg whereas they are being sold at Rs60/kg in the market.

The public is of the view that they can buy fruits on paper level only according to the prices set by the government.

The urged the government to not only issue the price list but also make its implementation possible.
