ICCI hosts New Office Bearers of National Press Club


ISLAMABAD( APS )FEB 16,2015- Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a reception in honor of the new office bearers of National Press Club, Islamabad. Shakeel Anjum President, Naveed Akbar Senior Vice President, Nazia Touheed, Ibrahim Kumbhar and Asif Bhatti Vice Presidents, Imran Yaqoob Dhilon Secretary, Amannullah, Iqbal Malik, Mohsin Ijaz and Shakila Jilil Joint Secretaries, Ishaq Chaudhry Finance Secretary and members of governing body were present at the occasion.

In his opening remarks, AtifI kram Sheikh, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the office bearers and governing body members of National Press Club, Islamabad to ICCI. He said business and journalistic communities were important stakeholders in the development of local economy and both organizations should consider forming a joint committee to work jointly for serving the cause of their members more effectively.

He said journalistic community should cooperate with business community in highlighting key issues of trade and industry so that government could pay better attention towards resolving their problems. He said new local government was elected in Islamabad and strong working relationship between business and journalistic communities was important to influence local government for focusing non better development of the federal capital. He assured that ICCI would continue to cooperate with the National Press Club, Islamabad for promoting larger interests of the economy.

Speaking at the occasion, Shakeel Anjum, President, National Press Club, Islamabad(NPCI) said it was encouraging that ICCI and NPCI enjoyed cordial relations since long as their friendly relations were yielding beneficial outcomes for their members and the economy. He assured that NPCI platform would always be available to highlight the issues of business community. He hoped that close cooperation between the two bodies would be helpful in addressing issues and facilitating the growth of business activities. Shehryar Khan, Farah Naz, Imran Yaqoob Dhilon, Ishaq Chaudhry and others also spoke at the occasion and stressed for further strengthening the relations between ICCI and NPCI for achieving healthy results for the citizens and local economy.
