LAHORE: (APS)MAY 11,2016 – With Panama Leaks fiasco in full swing, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) senior leader Aitzaz Ahsan responded to the answers provided by the government to a questionnaire that the Opposition had earlier formulated for Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif regarding his assets and the matter of Panama Leaks. Ahsan stated that the government’s leaders are suffering from confusion as they failed to provide even a single relevant answer to the questions.
Ahsan also responded to the allegations leveled against his wife saying that the LPG quota was not an official business and that anybody could do it.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also voiced its response. Party’s Spokesperson, Naeem-ul-Haq, stated that the Panama Papers did not mention PTI chairman Imran Khan’s sisters. He added that these accusations were merely being leveled for the purpose of blackmail.
He further stated that the government wants to curb PTI’s demand for investigation. He added that the party will not let go of the matter so easily however.
Opposition had earlier provided the government a questionnaire consisting of 7 questions over Panama Leaks, which it has demanded that the PM should answer to them in the Parliament.
Meanwhile government representatives responded to the questions, with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and Federal Ministers including Daniyal Aziz, Mohammad Zubair, Abid Sher Ali and Tallal Chaudhary lambasting various members of the Opposition parties during a press conference in Islamabad while answering to the questions raised by Ahsan.
