ISLAMABAD:(APS)Nov 19,2015-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed to complete disbursement of compensation for houses damaged in recent earthquake by Wednesday.
He was addressing quake-affected people at Panakot in Upper Dir this afternoon
He also distributed compensation cheques.
The Prime Minister said instructions were issued for payment of cash grant of six hundred thousand to heirs of each of those killed in the quake.
He hoped that the process would have been completed by now.
He assured that the government will take every possible step to mitigate sufferings of quake victims.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was told that twenty people were killed and one hundred sixty-two injured due to earthquake in Upper Dir.
He was informed that all these people have been paid the compensation amount.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Information Minister Pervez Rashid, Advisor to Prime Minister Ameer Muqam and MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah were also present on the occasion.
Later addressing a public meeting at Panakot, the Prime Minister expressed the confidence that major developmental projects will help transform lot of the local people.
He said 50 billion rupees are being spent on the development of the area and welfare of the people.
He asked people to strengthen hands of the Government so that it delivers as per their expectations.
The Prime Minister said efforts are also being made to end load-shedding.
