ISLAMABAD:(APS) December 18, 2015-State Minister for Human Rights Zafarullah Khan chaired a meeting to review the progress on Women Empowerment Package .State Minister emphasized that women should be provided with equal opportunities in Public Sector and their participation in social and political sphere should be promoted by instituting Pro-Women laws and policies.
Meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Ministry of Human Rights , Ms Humera Azam Khan; Director General Ministry of Human Rights ,Mr Muhammad Hassan Mangi ; Representatives from all provinces and other officials from Ministry of Human Rights.
State Minister Zafraullah Khan also called upon all the provinces to proffer suggestions to bring reforms in laws related with women empowerment and stressed on opening new vistas for the job opportunities for women in Public sector.
Government is committed to see women in Pakistan more strong and dignified by creating more opportunities for them in jobs and education sector.
It is also noted that State Minister Zafarullah Khan was the architect of said Women Empowerment Package with the aim of stepping up women’s participation in social and political spheres . Summary to Prime Minister was submitted to Prime Minister who in turn desired to elicit the comments of Provincial Governments . The Package was also revised and a model Package was prepared for ICT as a guideline for the Provincial Governments.
