Rawalpindi:(APS) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Saturday remarked that ceasefire violation and bloodletting in Balochistan, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Karachi manifest enemy’s hostile intent, the ISPR reported.
General Raheel Sharif gave these remarks at the Naval Academy Passing out parade today where he was invited as a chief guest.
He said Pakistan has shown willingness to coop with other nations for peace but not at expense of our national interests, sovereign rights and national pride.
Armed forces are ready to pay any price to protect nationhood, safeguard country’s interest, be it Kashmir, development of new ports or exploitation of natural resources, he added.
The Army Chief further stressed that CPEC holds enormous potential for transforming lives of region s people. He said Pakistan is are acutely aware of enemy campaigns and will defeat all nefarious designs against this project.
CPEC with Gwadar Port as its catalyst will be built and developed as one of most strategic deep sea port in the region at any cost whatsoever, he said.
General Raheel further remarked that entire nation expresses resolve to eliminate menace of terrorism while operation Zarb-e-Azb is delivering decisive results that is why terrorists are resorting to desperate actions.
He said it is encouraging to see entire nation pursuing the national effort with great sense of purpose to eliminate terrorism.
