Electronic voting will not be rigged, opposition will accept results, PM

ISLAMABAD:July 14, 2021 Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed hope that the upcoming elections will use electronic voting machine (EVM) and the opposition will accept the results without raising the objection of rigging, if the opposition loses, it will accept that he defeated them in a clear and transparent manner.

Addressing the ceremony of inheritance certificates for Punjab, he said that former US President Donald Trump challenged the results in the US presidential election but the EVM machine was used in the election so nothing happened in the US.

The Prime Minister said that the main objective of the government is to facilitate through governance, the government does this on the basis of tax revenue collected and as a result serves the taxpayers.

He said that when government institutions become inactive, the government becomes incapable of serving the people and then the people ‘serve’ the government and this is a sign of poor system.

“There is a lot of work pressure on the law ministry and it is not known for a long time where the file that goes there is lost, but I still pay tribute to the assistance in providing inheritance certificates,” he said.
