ISLAMABAD: (APS)December 16, 2016-The second anniversary of Army Public School Peshawar terror attack was observed in the country today.
The National Assembly held discussion on Army Public School Peshawar terrorist incident and Fall of Dhaka in connection with 16th December.
Taking part in the debate, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said terrorism cannot be eliminated merely through force, but political stability is equally important for it.
He said the APS incident had made the resolve of the nation very strong to root out terrorism from the country. He said 16th December is the day of one of the worst tragedies in the history of the country.
A special prayer ceremony was held in Islamabad today for those who embraced martyrdom in APS tragedy in 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb said the sacrifices of the students of APS brought the entire nation to one platform of fighting against the menace of terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Asif Kirmani said the Army Public School Peshawar tragedy has united the nation against terrorists.
He said the anti-terrorism operation intensified after the tragedy has broken the back of terrorists.
In Muzaffarabad, a rally was held to express solidarity with the families of the APS martyrs and armed forces engaged in the war on terror.
Similarly, a special function was also held in Mirpur to pay homage to the martyred children.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s message
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured the nation that the war against terror will be taken to its logical conclusion to guarantee a peaceful and stable Pakistan for our future generations.
He gave the assurance in a message on the occasion of second anniversary of APS tragedy in Peshawar.
The Prime Minister said after tragic incident of APS, Pakistani nation and leadership took a clear and categoric decision for an indiscriminate action against terrorists.
He said the world has seen that we have dismantled the terrorists’ networks and broken their back by rendering matchless sacrifices in this war of our survival.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the families of the martyred students and all those who became victims of the tragic incident of Army Public School Peshawar.
He said the entire Pakistani nation feels and shares the pain of the tragedy and stand by the mourning families.
CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif’s message
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in a statement on the 2nd anniversary of APS said the little martyrs of Army Public School had rendered matchless sacrifices for a safe and peaceful Pakistan with their blood.
The Chief Minister said the nation got united to fight against the terrorism after this incident.
He said that the martyred children and teachers of army public school are heroes of the nation.
He said that the entire nation is paying tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Army Public School.
He said that today we want to renew our commitment with children that we will finish the menace of terrorism from the country.
