Apex committee expresses satisfaction over progress in Zarb-e-Azb


PESHAWAR:(APS)April 2, 2016-Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has commended tribal people for their resolve to fight against terrorism.

He was speaking at a meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa apex committee in Peshawar on Saturday.

The Army Chief said destroyed areas will be reconstructed with the cooperation of the tribal people.

The meeting reviewed security measures along the Pak-Afghan border.

It also expressed satisfaction over progress on operation Zarb-e-Azb. The meeting was briefed about repatriation of Temporary Displaced Persons of FATA. It was also apprised about efforts made for the rehabilitation of the affected families.

The meeting decided to improve security system along Pakistan-Afghanistan border. It has also been decided in the meeting to close illegal communication towers in Pakistan.

The meeting decided that a Pakistani delegation would soon visit Kabul to discuss reception of phone calls from Afghanistan demanding extortion.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, DG ISPR Lt. Gen Asim Salim Bajwa, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Hidayat-ur-Rehman, and other high ranking civil and military officials attended the meeting.
