ISLAMABAD (APS) August 15,2016- Chairman Media Town Housing society, leader of Journalist panel Farooq Faisal Khan has announced “Endowment Fund” for the welfare of widows and orphans of journalist.
“We are achieving the self- reliance, the “Endowment Fund” initially started from Rs. 30 million, contributed by senior journalists, said Farooq Faisal Khan, while addressing flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of 70 Independence Day of Pakistan, organized by National Press Club (NPC) along with farmer president of PFUJ, Muhammad Afzal Butt, President NPC, Shakeel Anjum,Mayor Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Secretary NPC, Imran Yaqoun Dhillon with other leader here in National Press Club.
Farooq Faisal said the endowment fund consist on trust comprises on senior journalists, Nasir Zaidi, Hamid Mir, Zafar Malik, Muhammad Afzal Butt, Tariq Chaudhary, Khalid Azeem, Maira Imran and President NPC, Shakeel Anjum to hold the positioning fund till his tenor as President NPC.
He said the endowment fund to support the orphans and widows of the of journalist families to provide them different health and education facilities in this regard.
On the occasion, he also announced Media Town Phase –II on which negotiation was completed with Punjab government and Rs. 1 billion guarantee to pay by the Media Town Society.
He added that in this regards initial process including all legal matter has completed with Punjab government.
While Farooq Faisal also announced the Community School System (CSS) for journalist children in twins city of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, adding that CSS School to inaugurated in coming month and braches to be open in both cities within coming two years.
He also announced the dispensary in media town, which soon to be converted in hospital inaugurated in next month’s of September 2015.
While addressing on the occasion, President NPC, Shakeel Anjum Appreciated the endowment fund and other welfare projects announced by Farooq Faisal Khan, said that this is all the result of the unity and effort of the leaders like Farooq Faisal and Afzal Butt.
He said that self reliance to be best policy of enhance the capacity to support the journalist families and enhance the resources in this regards.
He urged for the unity of journalist to achieve the cause for welfare of journalist community.
While Mayor Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz said appreciated the role of leadership of journalist panel and NPC and said that this would be achieved the target of self reliance for journalist community.
He hails the efforts of President NPC, Shakeel Anjum and Secretary Imran Yaqoub Dhillon for the welfare of Journalist community.
He said that endowment fund is huge gift for the journalist community of the occasion of 70th Independence Day.
Farmer President PFUJ, Muhammad Afzal Butt said that on the occasion of 70th Independence Day of Pakistan,” we are committed to join hands for the welfare of journalist’s community and work for their well being.”
He said the endowment for the journalist community is huge achievement and result of struggle, adding that top priority of the panel is to emerge journalist community as powerful segment of society and achieve the self- reliance.
He said that in near future according to the vision of leadership, we serve for journalist community with full zeal and commitment.”
While Secretary NPC, Imran Yaqoub Dhillon also hails the efforts of leadership and said that this is great occasion to show the unity and strength of journalist community for achieving the self- reliance.
He said that endowment fund is result of huge scarifies rendered by the journalist and in future with unified effort, “We would achieve the more to give journalist community”.
While at the end General Secretary of CDS Union, Yasen Chaudhary and other leaders also address the august gathering during the Independent day celebration on National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad.
