He was talking to media persons in Islamabad today after performing groundbreaking of Islamabad metro bus link to be constructed between Peshawar Morr and New Islamabad International Airport.
He said all ongoing projects are being completed in shortest possible time.
The Prime Minister said his government is giving top priority to mega communications and infrastructure projects to encourage foreign investors and speed up industrialization in the country.
He said modern infrastructure including airports, highways, motorways and transport system are the hallmark of a dignified nation.
Nawaz Sharif regretted the delays that were witnessed by different projects in the past saying the government has injected the necessary resources to revive and complete these projects.
Referring to the metro bus project, the Prime Minister said it has been included in the new Islamabad project with a view to facilitate the access of passengers to and from the airport. He said the metro bus project will simultaneously be completed with the new airport.
Briefing the Prime Minister about the Metro Bus Project, Chairman National Highway Authority said that all contractors are being mobilized on all the four phases of the project.
The Metro Bus link will be completed by NHA in four phases with a total length of twenty-five point six kilometers, nine bus stations, twelve bridges and eleven underpasses.
The Prime Minister also inspected new Islamabad airport today.
On the occasion, he was briefed about the pace of work on the project to be completed by 14th August this year.
Ninety-five percent work on terminal building has been completed with a capacity of handling four thousand five hundred passengers at a time.
State of the art fifteen aircraft docking stations are complete. International standard air traffic control system is being installed at the airport.
Prime Minister on the occasion directed Civil Aviation Authority to ensure early completion of the New Islamabad International Airport without compromising quality of the work.
