ISLAMABAD:(APS)Oct 20,2015- Minister of State, Capital Administration & Development Division, Barrister Usman Ibrahim, chaired one day consultative workshop on “Fee Determination & Quality Education Parameters for Private Schools” held on 20th October, 2015 in CA&DD. The workshop was also attended by delegation of parents lead by Ms. Aliya Agha, President (LAGAN), Chairman PEIRA and other high officials of PEIRA. Minister of State, Capital Administration & Development Division, Barrister Usman Ibrahim, while addressing the participants, said that parents’ proposals regarding fee regulation would be given due consideration while regulating fee structure with the owners / CEO’s of private educational institutions. MoS also informed that majority of private educational institutions, including all leading schools, have reverted to the fee structure of year 2014.
MoS also apprised the audience that a “Special Cell” has been established in PEIRA office to ensure compliance of PEIRA’s notification of 23 September, 2015. MoS further informed that “Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2012” has been notified by the Federal Government under that students are being provided free textbooks and no fee is charged from students in the age bracket of 5 to 16 years, in public sector schools.
Chairman (PEIRA) gave detailed presentation on the efforts, so far, made by PEIRA to regulate fee structure of private educational institutions. Ms. Aliya Agha appreciated the efforts of the government to regulate fee structure of private educational institutions and expressed their support in future. The parents submitted various suggestions to regulate fees structure of private educational Institutions.
A consultative workshop with the owner /CEO’s of private educational institutions will be arranged on the same subject soon.
