ISLAMABAD:(APS)Sep 30,2015-Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet here Wednesday.
The Committee approved a proposal submitted by the Federal Board of Revenue to extend for another month i.e. till 31st of October 2015, the reduced rate of 0.3% advance income tax from non-filers, on banking transactions, under section 236P of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
As the government is engaged in delibrations with the business community with a view to resolving various issues being faced by the latter with regard to payment of advance income tax, the extension of one month has been given to allow the same to complete.
The Ministry of Water & Power submitted to the ECC, the Quarterly Progress Report on the Energy Sector Reforms for the period from January to June 2015. The Committee took note of the report and directed the Ministry to make the same public on its website.
The participants of the meeting on this occasion lauded the services of outgoing Secretary Planning and Development, Hasan Nawaz Tarar, who retired from government service today. The meeting wished him the best in his future life.
