ISLAMABAD:(APS)February 17, 2016- Two-day road safety workshop arranged by Islamabad Traffic Police for staff and driving section of Zarai Taraqiat Bank Limited (ZTBL) concluded here on Wednesday.
The purpose of this workshop was to acquaint them about road safety tips and better awareness about traffic rules. A large number of officials including Executive Vice Presidents Riaz-ul-Karim and Ghulam Rasool attended the workshop where education team of ITP spoke about community policing techniques and efforts of the force in ensuring safe road environment in the city.
In the concluding ceremony, the SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob said that ITP personnel will continue their efforts for ensuring safe road environment in the Capital and urged the people to cooperate with them to make this city accident-free. He also briefed the participants about functioning of ITP and hoped that this workshop will help all staff members to maintain traffic discipline in future. Program Head ITP Ayesha Jamil and other traffic police officials were also present on the occasion.
The participants were informed as how special measures are being taken to curb various traffic violations in the city and also informed about traffic rules and regulations. The educational teams of ITP visit various organizations as this exercise is helpful in providing a disciplined traffic system to the masses.
Education team briefed the participants on the history of the force, targets given to ITP and its achievements, safety measures while walking along the road, road crossing code, causes of accidents and how to protect one-self, defensive driving and its requirements, practice to prevent risky situations on road, planning for a long journey, positioning vehicle or lane discipline, right of way on junctions and road markings, safe overtaking, traffic sign boards and traffic light signals and perils of using mobile phone while driving.
The ZTBL officials appreciated the efforts of ITP for arranging such an informative programme and hoped for further improved performance of ITP in future.
The participants said it was a comprehensive presentation by ITP’s team they have not only learned quite a few new things but also got corrected on many aspects on which they were not so clear in their minds about the rules while driving on the road.
