ISLAMABAD:(APS)FEB 9,2016- Islamabad Police have ensured comprehensive arrangements for security around local courts especially for lawyers, judges and those visiting there.
It was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sajid Kiani while addressing a ceremony held in connection with security of Kuthcery in sector F-8. Session Judge (East) Sohail Akram, Session Judge (West) Kamran Basharat, Additional Session Judge Raja Asif Mehmud, SP Saddar Bilal Zafar and office bearers of District Bar Association were also present on the occasion.
The SSP said that Islamabad police remain always ready for security of judges and lawyers along with protection to the citizens and all available resources are being utilized for the purpose. He said that a boundary wall has been erected around Kutchery besides installing walk through gates at entry points while 145 policemen and FC personnel have been assigned security duties there.
He said that six police pickets have been erected in the vicinity of Kutchery while rapid response force continuously patrol there.
Highlighting the success story of Islamabad police against criminal elements, the SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani said that crime rate has been decline upto 40 percent in the Capital during 2015 as compared to 2015. He said that contingents of Police and Rangers have conducted more than 400 search operations during the last year which remained very successful.
The SSP said that security to judges and lawyers is at top priority of Islamabad police and elaborate arrangements have been made for the purpose. He said that visitors come in Kutchery in abudance from morning to evening on daily basis and despite several constraints, efforts are being made for effective security there.
He said that security cameras have been installed while high vigilance is being maintained against the suspects. He said that vehicles in parking lots remain under constant monitoring and rapid response force patrol on continuous basis whose response time is only three minutes.
In addition to these security measures, the SSP said that Islamabad police is very much active to curb crime rate. He said murder cases have been reduced upto 25 percent in 2015 as compared to 2014 while car theft cases reduced upto 52%, kidnapping for ransom cases dropped upto 50 percent, motorbike theft 48 %, dacoity 48 %, snatching items 38 %, burglary 18%, theft 16%,.
On behalf of Islamabad police, SSP renewed commitment to continue efforts for effective security and ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
Session Judge Sohail Akram said that it is our joint responsibility along with police to ensure security measures around us. He appreciated the efforts of Islamabad police in accomplishing security duties effectively. Session Judge (West) Kamran Basharat said that we all should stand with security forces to foil the nefarious designs of our common enemy.
