Quetta :(APS)May 2, 2016-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says solution to Balochistan’s problems lies in quick execution of development projects.
He was addressing a meeting on law and order situation and various development projects at Governor House Quetta on Monday.
The Prime Minister said that Balochistan was long neglected by the centre and even the provincial governments of the province. He said now is the time to do what could not be done in the past.
He said the federal government will ensure provision of the required assistance for solution of the problems of Balochistan. Nawaz Sharif said the federal government is further increasing the allocation of funds to the province for the next financial year.
The meeting was briefed that the unwavering political will and effective coordination between intelligence and law enforcement agencies have resulted in elimination of high profile terrorists.
The meeting was told that incidents of bomb blasts, rocket attacks, highway robberies and kidnapping for ransom have registered marked decrease.
Earlier, inaugurating National Health Programme in Balochistan this afternoon, the Prime Minister said political stability is vital for provision of better health facilities, education, and attracting foreign investment in the country.
Nawaz Sharif said sit-ins, protests, and political chaos are big hindrances in the way of development and progress. He said some elements are hampering Pakistan’s progress by using negative tactics.
The Prime Minister said work is continuing on energy projects and load-shedding will come to an end by 2018. He said the government is also actively pursuing to overcome shortage of gas.
He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would usher in a new era of progress, development, and prosperity not only in Pakistan, but in the entire region. Nawaz Sharif said Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline will help the country overcome energy shortage.
Commenting on National Health Programme, Nawaz Sharif said about 76,000 families of Quetta district will benefit from this programme, which will be extended to rest of the province.
Nawaz Sharif also distributed health insurance cards among deserving people of Balochistan.
Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri and Minister of State for Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar also spoke on the occasion.
