ISLAMABAD (APS) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the local body elections are inevitable in the country in order to empower people. He said if the local body system is good then the public will directly be in power, APS News reported.
Addressing the ‘Azadi March’ participants in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that the funds reserved for the local body are given to the members of National Assembly (MNAs) and provincial assemblies (MPAs) under the current system.
He said Supreme Court’s decision regarding the local body election is a welcome gesture.
He said that the people will be in power if the system of local governments is good.
Khan alleged that the rulers and occupation mafia are eating up people’s money while the people are deprived of even the basic rights.
PTI chief said that the current government has increased the electricity prices by 80 percent. He said questioning governments is the right of the people.
While announcing rally on October 17 in Sargodha, Imran Khan said he will himself oversee the stage arrangements.
